This July, we hosted an exciting Summer Reading Program at Trinity Lutheran Church that truly delivered Olympic-level fun! Nearly 50 kids from our community participated in two weeks of reading, learning, and non-stop fun from July 8-19. With the guidance of certified teachers and our incredible volunteers, children in grades K-4 dove into a Christian-based program that not only helped improve their reading skills but also showed them how enjoyable and rewarding reading can be.
A Faith-Filled Adventure
At Trinity, we believe that reading is more than just a skill—it’s an adventure! Through this Olympic-themed program, kids competed in reading challenges, participated in team-building games, and worked through fun activities that brought stories to life. All of this was designed to help them see reading as an exciting part of their everyday lives, while also growing their faith in a Christ-centered environment.
Highlights of the program included:
- Storytime Sessions: Kids were engaged with captivating stories that connected to their faith and sparked their imagination.
- Interactive Crafts: Participants got hands-on with creative projects that tied in with the stories they were reading.
- Team Games & Challenges: From relay races to trivia, kids competed in friendly contests that made reading fun and exciting.
