October is the month of reformation. The weather is re-forming, preparing to take its turn into winter. The trees and fields join in as well shaping the familiar scenes we know from summer into a brilliant burst of color as all of nature is re-formed.

Those with the courage and faith to look for good in this life will sometimes be rewarded with more goodness than you might imagine. It isn’t enough to simply look around to see the truly good. You have to look twice. You have to look closer.

Have you ever seen the bitter end? The bitter end is not exactly what you think, even though it feels that way.

Independence Day is upon us. Each year on the 4th of July we celebrate perhaps the most quintessentially American holiday.

It is the season for graduation. It is time for high school grads to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, college grads will receive their degrees, and all of them will be moving on. The graduation ceremony celebrates accomplishment. We speak of what or where we have graduated from, but what about what we graduate to?

Did you know that the Church uses a different calendar than the one on your wall, computer, or phone? We have seasons which reflect the religious significance of time as it passes.

When we confess our faith using the Apostle’s Creed we confess the identity and work of God. These confessions mean that we believe that God has not only made us his own, but that God has made us each other’s.
