Beginning this Fall, Trinity Lutheran Church will be providing a number of new Sunday School opportunities grounded completely in the Word of God. Our church believes what the Bible teaches, that the Holy Scriptures are God’s inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word. In this Word, God graciously gives us to us His Son, Jesus Christ. God’s Word is an amazing gift. This year, in a number of classes we are going to open that gift together each week. Reading the Bible can feel intimidating. This year we will help you to grow comfortable and confident approaching God’s Word. With just a Bible and a few simple questions, you will learn how to open your Bible to any page and understand what God is saying to you. A number of teachers have been trained to help you grow in just this way.
We are calling this class, and others using the same approach, This Week in the Word. Each week we will look at one of the Lectionary readings that you’ll hear during our worship services and learn how to simply and faithfully read and understand God’s Word together. I am excited about these classes, and hope you will join one as our Sunday School season kicks off once again. If you’d like to learn more I encourage you to talk to myself or Pastor Ben, or speak with our Director of Christian Development, Ryane Briggs.
Other opportunities are coming soon. We will be establishing home groups centered on scripture reading and prayer that will help your faith come alive in your home and with your family and friends. Leaders are being trained which takes some time, so expect to hear more about this wonderful opportunity in the weeks and months ahead. Fall is such a rich, full, and beautiful time here in Ohio and it will be here at Trinity as well. I pray you will be blessed as you are drawn to God and each other through His Word and prayer in the year ahead.
In Christ,
